Dr. Rienske Mortier, DVM

Dr Mortier Ever since Rienske was a child, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She grew up in the city of Ghent, Belgium, but would always be busy on farms or pet sitting. To her parents’ frustration, she would find creatures in need, such as orphaned lambs or stray kittens, to take home and nurse back to health.

Rienske studied veterinary medicine in Ghent, Belgium and graduated in 2008. She then moved to Canada in 2009 to obtain a PhD in infectious diseases at the University of Calgary. Realizing she enjoyed and missed clinical practice, the decision was made for a career change. Rienske is now devoted to providing the best health care for cats, dogs, and exotics. More specifically, she has a deeper interest in cardiology and obstetrics, and looks forward to building long lasting relationships with pets and their owners.
